Definition:

  • Pie charts work by spliting data into distincit groups or categories.
  • The size of each group is proportional to how many are in each group compared with the others.
  • Most times if you add slices frequency will equal= 100%.

When are pie charts useful?

  • To tell at a glance which groups have a high frequency compared with the others.
  • Pie charts are less useful if all the slices have similar sizes.
